Sabor cookies

Adopted from friend :)

Quick and crispy :)

You will need:
1 wafer ( app 28×37cm)
140 g sugar
4 egg yolks
140 g ground walnuts
140 g raisins
4 egg whites
15 grams of sugar

some ground walnuts for sprinkling

Like always, I made some twists and addition. i added chocolate and rum, so if you want to do my way, you will need
rum
and powdered chocolate.

With hand mixer mix yolks and sugar until smooth. Add walnuts, powdered chocolate, raisins soaked in rum and spread cream on wafer. Put wafer into a pan and place it in preheated oven. BE CAREFUL, you need to bake it only for few minutes, about 10 or some..Check occasionally, you will see when it's baked :)
While first part of cookie is in oven, mix egg whites with sugar. When sugar is dissolved, and the first part of cookie baked, spread egg whites mixture on baked wafer, sprinkle with walnuts and place it in the oven. Before that, switch off the oven, so that egg whites are slowly baked while oven is cooling down. When the egg whites are crispy and yellowish, your cookie is finished.

Cut it in whatever form you want, and don't hesitate to make more than one wafer, because you can get easily addicted to this cookie :)

Grandpa's Moustaches

No, You didn't read it wrong. And yes, you are on a right page! The name of this dessert is little strange, but the dessert is fantastic: it looks great and tastes fantastic :)

Don't worry, it's not some witch potion where you need to cut off your grandpa's mustaches. The cake is named like this, because when you slice up the cake, you get pieces that looks like mustaches :) Interesting, right? :)

You don't believe it? Look for yourself!

Dough

350 g of flour
150 g margarine or butter
7 tablespoons of milk
1 tablespoons of sugar
4 egg yolks
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons of sour cream

Place the flour and baking powder onto a flat work surface and shape it into a well. Pour the milk, sour cream, egg yolks,  margarine or butter, sugar and a pinch of salt into the center of the well and work into a ball of dough. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a square block. You will get 3 blocks out of this recipe.

Filling

4 egg whites
200 g ground walnuts
vanilla sugar
1 - 2 tablespoons of cocoa
150 g sugar

With electric mixer beat egg whites, add sugar and vanilla sugar and continue mixing until egg whites are firm enough and all sugar is dissolved. Then add ground walnuts and cocoa, and carefully mix it with spoon.

Now you will need:
some jam
some ground walnuts for sprinkling
some cocoa and a little bit of cinnamon

Spread jam over the roll out dough leaving the middle of dough empty. Sprinkle ground walnuts, cocoa and cinnamon over the spread jam ,

and now roll the dough on both side (left and right) equally, so that you leave a little empty space in a middle.

Put the dough into a pan. Fill the empty space with filling and put it in a preheated oven.

Bake until lightly golden. Take out of the oven.

plus
50 g  milk chocolate
A little icing sugar

When the cake cools, sprinkle sides with icing sugar (white whiskers ;) ) and in the middle spread the melted milk chocolate.

Upside Down Fairytale

Or you can simply call it Apple cake, but Upside Down Fairytale sounds much more tempting, and this cake is surely tempting! You take one bite, and you can't stop until it's gone. Than you crave for more. until the whole cake is gone :D

Well, at least this cake is not calorie - bomb, so you don't have to feel much guilt after eating it :)

Ingredients

8-10 apples (depending on the size of a pan)
8-10 tablespoons of jam
8-10 tablespoons of ground walnuts
raisins (optional)
Tip: jam, walnuts and raisins depend on the size od apples, if they are bigger you'll need more tbsoons, the trick is to fill them to top.
Biscuit
5 eggs

5 tablespoons sugar

2 Tbsp of flour
2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 package of vanilla sugar (12 g)

Cream

80 g of vanilla pudding powder (2 packages)
800 ml of milk
6 tablespoons sugar

For decoration, optional

chocolate glaze or whipping cream, or nothing :)

Peel and core apples so you have a whole inside of each apple, like this:

Oil a baking pan and sprinkle with sugar. Place the apples to each other (tip: in each apple hole place one small peace of an apple, so your filling doesn't leak out) and fill each hole with jam, ground nuts and raisins. Place it in preheated oven.

Meanwhile, place egg whites and yolks in two separated bowls. Mix egg whites. Then mix yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar until it's smooth. Add flour, baking powder and egg whites. Put aside.

When apples are softened, remove them out of the oven, coat them with the biscuits batter and return to oven. Bake until it's golden brown.

Take a plate (bigger than a pan), protect your hands and hold the plate and pan firmly together, quickly and carefully flip the pan and the plate so that the pan is on top. Tap the pan sharply a few times all round with a wooden spoon, then lift off. The cake should be left on the serving plate with the apples on top.

While the cake is cooling, make a pudding. Place 500 ml milk in saucepan over low heat and in the remaining 300 ml milk mix pudding powder and sugar. When the milk starts to boil, add pudding mixture and stir well until it's cooked. Spread the pudding over the cake and decorate with whipping cream or chocolate glaze.

Place in refrigerator, and wait, it's worth it :)

and i'm so sad
like a good book
i can't put this day back
a sorta fairytale
with you...

Reforme Cake

Autumn is here. Leaves are falling, the sky is grey, birds are gathering on electric wires and moving in warmer lands...nature is descending..and the smell of rotting woods is always appealing to me. It makes me feel calm and satisfied. Brown, yellow, shades of green...

In that particular mood, I decide to share this rich, but also flour-less cake, in the colors of autumn and taste of warmth. Hope you'll like it :)

ingredients:
Batter:
6 egg whites
200 g of sugar

200 g of ground walnuts

zest od half lemon

Filling:
 6 egg yolks
200 g of sugar

100 g of chocolate

150 g of margarine or butter

With electric mixer whip egg whites until soft peaks form, add sugar and mix it until smooth, and all sugar is dissolved. Add ground walnuts. Mix gently. Grease a baking sheet and spread batter into prepared pan (large pan, from the oven, about 28x23 cm). Bake till it's lightly brown. Cut baked batter in three strips (lengthwise). Place bottom layer on a cake stand and with an offset spatula, carefully top with 1/3  of filling. Place the second cake layer on top, spread with another 1/3cof the filling. Repeat with the third layer. Spread with remaining cream around the cake, and decorate with ground walnuts.

Filling:
Egg yolks and sugar put in a double boiler, stir constantly until it begins to foam, add chocolate and cook until it thickens. Let it cool.

Reforma torta

Tijesto
6 bjelanjaka

200 g šećera
200 g mljevenih oraha
malo limunove kore

Fil
6 žumanjaka

200 g šećera
100 g čokolade
150 g margarina

Priprema
